The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has donated a cash amount of one thousand five-hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢1,500) to Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) of the KNUST, Kumasi, to support quality teaching and research in the area of agriculture.
In an address, the Marketing Manager of ADB, Mr. Lord Koramoa, hinted that negotiations are ongoing for the Bank to extend its services to KNUST campus soon. He further expressed the Bank's willingness to admit students from KNUST on industrial attachment and internship so as to enhance a stronger mutual collaboration.
Mr. Koramoa, making the presentation, handed over the dummy cheque to SIFE Executives. He was accompanied by a delegation from the Bank including Madam Lydia Bedu-Addo, the Retail Performance Monitoring Manager of the Northern Zone, and two other officers.
In a response, the President of SIFE, Mr. Nelson Owusu-Ansah, expressed gratitude to Management of ADB for the kind gesture. He stated that the donation would be put to good use to assist local farmers who are into commercial crop production. This, he explained, would be a community outreach project which would subsequently provide the requisite training grounds for SIFE members since it forms part of its core mandate. Mr. Owusu-Ansah was optimistic that the project could be extended to other communities in the future.
The formal presentation attracted some Senior Members of the University including Dr. Kofi Owusu-Daaku, Dean of Students; Dr. Rudith King, Vice-Dean of Students; Mr. Ralph Nyaadu-Addo, a Lecturer and Officer in-charge of the Centre for Business Development (CBD). The Executives and members of SIFE were also present.
